Run for Liberty
5K & 1 Mile Fun Run
Join us for the inaugural Run for Liberty! The Run for Liberty is a 5K & 1 Mile fun run in support of “The Friends of Liberty State Park” (“FOLSP”), which is an all-volunteer non-profit 501(c) (3) grassroots stewardship organization founded in 1988. FOLSP is dedicated to supporting Liberty State Park; an inspiring recreational open space, natural and historic public resource behind Lady Liberty and Ellis Island.
What we are supporting:
Our mission is “to preserve, protect, conserve and promote Liberty State Park”. All proceeds from this race will go toward improving Liberty State Park by funding the park’s gardens, adding to the 900 trees we've already funded, supporting additional amenities, volunteer activities, and park programs. We’re currently working on a law to protect LSP after four decades of unpopular and defeated privatization and commercialization plans. So, join us June 15th! Walkers, Runners, and spectators welcome!
The Course:
The course will start and finish on the south end of the Liberty State Park waterfront. Runners will enjoy inspiring vistas of Lady Liberty, Ellis Island, the Manhattan skyline, and New York harbor!

Registration Dates & Prices for the 1 Mile:
5/10-5/27 $15, 5/28-6/09 $20, 6/10-6/15 $25
Registration Dates & Prices for the 5k:
5/10-5/27 $25, 5/28-6/09 $30, 6/10-6/15 $35
Same day registration is available.
Packet Pickup
Packet Pickup opens at 8:30 a.m.
Please arrive to the race venue 45 minutes prior to your event. This will allow ample time to pickup your packet, warmup, and enjoy the views.

Directions
Race check in tables will be at "Flag Plaza" near the main park office of Liberty State Park. The official address is 200 Morris Pesin Dr., however the GPS often directs you to the Diner instead of the park office...please continue (east) of the diner toward our parking lot (there will be signage). Parking in this lot is FREE. This is the only lot where free parking will be available.
