Description
Join The Arc, Ocean County Chapter at our 23rd Annual Step Up for The Arc Walk and 5K Race to raise awareness and funds for the 1,000 individuals with disabilities we support in Ocean County, NJ.

Event proceeds will benefit The Arc's mission to advocate, provide opportunities and supports necessary for all individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to be accepted and valued as citizens of the community in which they choose to live, learn, work and play. Walk and Family Fun Details
Walk Registration: It is recommended to register online for the 1-Mile Walk and Family Fun Day in advance to ensure a quick check-in process, but event day registrations are always welcome. Registration opens at 10:00am for the Walk at the 3rd base entrance where you can check-in with our event volunteers to complete a registration form and waiver, hand in day of donations, and collect your t-shirt incentive for fundraising $50 or more.
Celebration Ceremony: Our Walk celebration ceremony will start at 11:00am on home plate with a warm-up from our Adaptive Fitness instructor, special guest speakers, and the National Anthem.
1-Mile Walk: Our 1-mile Walk countdown will begin at the balloon arch by 1st base immediately following our opening ceremony. Please note the walk route is accessible, and that each lap around the concourse is 1/3 mile so we encourage you to walk three laps to complete the 1-mile walk.
Family Fun: We have a fun-filled day planned just for you! Please enjoy all our exciting entertainment from 10:00am to 1:00pm including music, arts and crafts, carnival games, prizes, face painting, yoga, and more!
Refreshments: Water, fruit, granola bars, and other light refreshments will be available throughout the event.
After-Party Lunch: After we walk 1-mile to celebrate individuals with disabilities, let's keep the party going with lunch donated by Jersey Mike's Subs. Please email development@arcocean.org for specialty lunch options no later than May 1st.
Parking: Free and accessible parking will be available on-site at the stadium.
5K Race Details
5K Race Registration: Online registration for the 5K Race is required to ensure a quick check-in process. Registration opens at 7:00am in front of the BlueClaws Stadium 3rd base entrance where you can check in with our event volunteers, hand in day of donations, collect your bib number and participation sport water bottle, and our commemorative event t-shirts will be available for participants who fundraised or donated a total of $50 or more to support our mission.
Awards: 5K race medals will be awarded at approximately 9:00 am.

Refreshments: Water, fruit, granola bars, and other light refreshments will be available at the finish line.
5K Route Map: Starting inside the Jersey Shore BlueClaws Stadium, participants will run or walk 3.1 miles along a paved and marked course around the surrounding roads. See the "MapMyRun Map" below for more details.
Parking: Free and accessible parking will be available on-site at the stadium via the New Hampshire Ave entrance from 6:00am-9:00am.
Fundraising Incentives
The Step Up for The Arc Walk and 5K Race is a special fundraiser for the residents, participants, and staff of The Arc of Ocean. Every dollar raised through the program's team fundraiser helps purchase essential wishlist items—such as art supplies, patio furniture, and field trip tickets—ensuring continued high-quality services for the individuals we support.
As a token of appreciation for your support and an incentive to encourage fundraising efforts, Walk and 5K Race participants who fundraise or donate a total of $50 or more are eligible to receive this year's commemorative event t-shirt.
The $30 5K Race registration fee will be applied to the fundraising total and includes an Arc sport water bottle. The Walk registration is free and includes lunch.
