Park and Pub Run Series

Let’s spend the summer months exploring runners' favorite things… parks and pubs!

Lace up your running shoes, grab your friends, and come enjoy a scenic run/walk/roll through some beautiful parks, explore new routes and neighborhoods and then relax with a well-deserved post-run drink.

The 5k-5 mile routes are designed for runners and walkers of all levels and abilities, whether you're a seasoned marathoner or a beginner just starting out.

Here's what you need to know:

June Summer Solstice Pub Run

Date: Wednesday Jun 21, 2023
Park Location: Nishuane Park, 151 Harrison Ave., Montclair
Meeting Time: 6:15pm Step Off: 6:30pm
Pub Location: The Allegory Restaurant at The MC Hotel, 690 Bloomfield Ave, Montclair
Vendor Partner: Mizuno

We will meet at Nishuane Park behind the Harrison Ave. Fire House. The marked 3 mile route will take runners through the South End of Montclair and into Canterbury Park. After the run, everyone is invited to reconvene at the MC Hotel.

First round of beer is complimentary, thanks to the MC Hotel and lite bites will be offered courtesy of Mizuno!

July ASICS Gel Kayano's 30th Birthday Party Pub Run

Date: Wednesday July 19, 2023
Location: Watsessing Park
Meeting Time: 6:15pm Step Off: 6:30pm
Post-run pub: Four City Brewery
Vendor Partner: ASICS

We will meet near the Watsessing Park entrance at the Maolis Ave and Glenwood Ave intersection. (Near the Butterfly Garden and playground. Put 154 Glenwood Ave, Bloomfield into your GPS.)

Run, walk or roll the marked 2.6ish mile course that will explore the three different "sections" of Watsessing Park. After the run, everyone is invited to reconvene at the Four City Brewery.

First round of beer, pizza and cupcakes are complimentary thanks to ASICS!

August Pub Run

Date: Wednesday August 16, 2023
Location: Branch Brook Park
Meeting Time: 6:15pm Step Off: 6:30pm
Post-run pub: Newark Local Beer
Vendor Partner: Altra

100% of registration fees from the August Pub Run will be donated to Black Men Run.

We will meet near the Prudential Lion sculptures towards the south side of Branch Brook Park. The closest entrance is just past the the corner of Park Ave and 4th Street. (There is plenty of parking along Branch Brook Park Dr.) All registered participants will receive an email with the park map marked with additional details.

Run, walk or roll the 3.6ish mile marked course that will explore Branch Brook Park. (There is a cut through option that will shorten the route to two miles too!)

Post-run, head over to Newark Local Beer (538 Broad Street, Newark, NJ) where you will be served complimentary first round thanks to Altra!

September Pub Run

Date: Wednesday September 13, 2023
Location: Brookdale Park
Meeting Time: 6:15 
Post-run pub: The Brookdale
Vendor Partner: Brooks

We will meet near the lower parking lot (enter through the Watchung entrance of Brookdale Park for easy access.

Run, walk or roll the marked course that will explore the park. After the run, everyone is invited to reconvene at The Brookdale. First round of beer or wine is complimentary, thanks to Brooks!

Q: Do I have to be a serious runner to participate?
A: Not at all! Our routes are designed for runners and walkers of all levels and abilities.

Q: Can I bring my dog?
A: Unfortunately, dogs are not allowed on the course.
