Description

Celebrating our 121st year, the Coney Island Polar Bear Club New Year's Day Plunge welcomes thousands of BRRave souls from NY to Paris and everywhere in between to check off one of the "coolest" events on their bucket list! A great way for everyone to get involved in supporting our local non-profit organizations, every dollar donated helps make a difference!

HOW FUNDS HELP OUR COMMUNITY

Coney Island is a neighborhood located on the southernmost tip of Brooklyn, NY, home to over 50,000 residents with a poverty rate close to 30%. The Coney Island Polar Bear Club New Year's Day Plunge helps raise funds to support the local organizations in our community that are helping to make a difference. Some of those organizations include the New York Aquarium, Alliance for Coney Island, Coney Island History Project, the Coney Island YMCA, and a variety of others with initiatives that range from producing our free public programming, such as Friday Night Fireworks, to educational resources for our local youth, workforce development programs to connect our residents to job opportunities, as well as advocacy for clean water and education about waste in our oceans and the impact it has.
