Description
The Nate the Great Race is held in conjunction with the Boxing Hall of Fame Weekend. Proceeds from the race started out building the “dream” of a state of the art track facility, when that was accomplished, the race continued on for numerous other community efforts. The race currently supports; scholarships, summer conditioning programs, youth track meets, health & fitness classes, office of the aging, and numerous other community based programs. Additionally you can find the Canastota Running Club baskets at fundraisers whenever there is a time of need.

In Memory of Nate Holdridge
Nate Holdridge was a senior at Canastota High School when he was tragically killed in an auto accident in January 1996. He had been accepted to St. Lawrence University where he planned to continue to run Cross Country & Track while pursuing his degree. Nate had a “dream” to one day see a track built in Canastota that his community could utilize to help perpetuate the sport of running which he so dearly loved.

The official 2025 Hall of Fame Weekend Induction schedule of events and ticket purchasing information will be released later this year and will be the most highly anticipated event in Hall of Fame history.
