The MUTT'ster Mash

A fundraiser or charity event is a great time to get together with other animals lovers and enthusiasts to share our passion for the furry ones, and to collaborate on ideas that could better serve the animals in our own community.  The donations and charity monies that are collected are used to serve the animals in care. 

Animal shelters and rescues have a big responsibility and a large financial burden to bear.  The medical care of one animal brought into the shelter can cost anywhere from $100-$200, initially, and then depending on the length of stay, the animal will cost more throughout its time there.  Veterinary care includes shots (Rabies, Bordatells, distemper), blood work (heart worm testing, labs, etc), spay/neuter, medications(flea/tick, dewormer, anti fungal for skin, antibiotics, etc), nail clipping, medicated bath,and often small and large procedures/operations for an assortment of medical issues.    

But the fun doesn't stop there.  The managerial costs associated with running an animal shelter include management/staff salaries, taxes, lawyer fees, accounting, marketing, professional fees, and depreciation.  Then, of course, the operating costs, like, utilities, building costs, insurance, transportation, communication costs, office supplies, printing and postage, bank costs, and building repair.  Good times! 

Charity events like the MUTT'ster Mash are a way to raise money to help defer some the expenses of our local shelters, while at the same time getting together as a community for a cause that we love and support.  Thank you again for being a part of this!
