The Blizzard Run

The Blizzard Run has two events: 
- Virtual 2-Mile Race
- Virtual 4-Mile Race

Location:
You can run in Long Beach or anywhere you'd like. 

Timeframe:
Saturday February 6th through Sunday, March 21st, 2021

This event is a fundraiser for the Long Beach Soup Kitchen which feeds those in need. 

The Blizzard Run will feature both a 4 mile run or a 2 mile run measured accurately on the Long Beach Boardwalk. 

The Start: Both races will start on the west end of the Boardwalk near New York Avenue (at the lamppost marked N1 at its base).

The Finish:
The 2 mile run will end at the east end near Neptune Avenue (lamppost marked S54).
The 4 mile run will turn around (lamppost marked S54) and finish back at New York Avenue. 

Or you can run anywhere in your neighborhood, on the beach, or local park.

Results:
Runners and walkers should time themselves using one of the following apps: RaceJoy ( free with registration). Strava, Mapmyrun, or use a GPS watch. 
Go to  the RunSignUp page for The Blizzard Run and click on the Result link on the top ribbon. Type in your name and bib number and put in your time.
Results will be uploaded over the race period periodically.

Custom-made medals for all those who participate can be picked up Sunday, March 21st at Jordan Lobster Farms plus 10% off on any item at Jordon's for the day. We will be on the outside "The Back Yard" as it is referred to.

Video interviews will be taken of runners to learn their secrets for staying in shape this past winter.
(The video will be made available the following week).

If you cannot make this celebration, medals will be available for pickup at the Long Beach Soup Kitchen located at 140 W. Pine Street in Long Beach, NY starting March 22nd - 31st. Please refer to their website for hour of operation.
