The Capt. Joseph J. Boccia Jr. USMC 4-Mile Warrior Run/Walk

DAY OF RACE: Expect traffic entering Crab Meadow. Plan to arrive on or             before7:00 AM

The Capt. Joseph J. Boccia Jr. USMC 4-Mile Warrior Run/Walk:
Suffolk County Executive Steve Bellone officially announced the formation of the Suffolk County Veterans Racing Series (click for more info) and we are honored to have the Capt. Joseph Boccia 4 Mile Warrior Run/Walk as one of 8 races chosen in this endeavor. The Veteran Run Series is participation-based and will serve to publicize all series races in the hopes of increasing turnout for all associated events. The goal is to make each participating race as successful as it possibly can be, thereby making the biggest positive impact for our local veterans. Those who run and/or volunteer in seven out of eight races in the Series will receive a participation medal. Challenge Coins will be presented to qualifying participants in January 2017 at a special ceremony which will include their family and members of each race committee.

As part of Cow Harbor Warrior Weekend, The 4-Mile Warrior Run/Walk is a scenic and challenging run/walk that starts at picturesque Crab Meadow Beach Park on Long Island Sound. It travels a flat course along Makamah preserve, turns up a hill through a quiet Northport neighborhood, and continues along the rolling bluffs overlooking Northport Harbor finishes down a hill to a flat, fast finish at Crab Meadow Beach. The race encompasses some of the challenging and beautiful sections of the historic Great Cow Harbor 10K Race.

 Immediately after the race, awards will be handed out and raffles drawn. Refreshments, pizza, beer, and music under the portico on the beach as well. Bring the entire family to watch your favorite runner or for a beach day at Crab Meadow Beach-
