Saratoga Arts First Night 5k

The Saratoga Arts First Night 5k is a family friendly event and a great way to start your New Year's Eve celebration!

The event begins at the Skidmore College gymnasium at 5:30pm on December 31st, and traces a 3.1 mile loop around the campus. The course exits the campus at Clinton Avenue and continues to Greenfield Avenue, continuing up North Broadway and back to campus. This is a moderately challenging course, including both hills and downgrades.

This year's giveaway is a great reversible running hat.  This hat is day glow orange fleece inside and moisture wicking poly outside.  wear it right side out to stay warm wile doing outdoor winter chores/activities.  Wear it orange side out to be seen while running and allow some heat to escape.  

We will not be capping this race this year!: Due to the overwhelming success of this run, we have had to close registration several years in a row, but with technology being better we can leave registration open.  There will even be day of race registration. However we do encourage runners to sign up early to save money and be guaranteed a hat.  Hats are only available to the first 1200 registered runners. 

Check-In: Packet pick-up 3:30 to 5:15 p.m. the day of the race at Skidmore College Athletic Complex. Parking, restrooms, and showers are available as well as refreshments after the race.

Timing:  The race will be timed by Green Leaf Racing using MyLaps BibTag technology. This is a small and flat chip that comes affixed to the back of your bib. You must wear your bib on your outer-most layer and it must not be altered in any way. Do not flatten, bend, or fold your bib. Results will be available at greenleafracing.com following the event.

Awards: To the top three overall male and female finishers, and top three male and female finishers in each 5-year age division. No duplicate awards.

Rules of Competition: Due to the hour of the race, anyone with dogs or carriages is prohibited from running. We reserve the right to cancel the race due to weather conditions that cause the running surface to be hazardous to the runners’ safety.

Price: Race registration is $25 through October 31st, $30 through December 23rd, and $35 through December 30th and $40 on race day. 

Entry fees are nonrefundable and non-transferable.  All prices exclude service fees.
