2021 Red Jacket 5K, Wild Water Derby Weekend

UPDATE: Although the Wild Water Derby has been cancelled this year, this run is still happening!

We're back!! Finally after many months we are able to go out run a good 5K with a few limitations. Our run will start at the Red Jacket High School in Shortsville, go north on Route 21 for a mile and then turn on to the gorgeous Manchester Gateway Trail. The trail follows the Canandaigua Outlet along a crushed stone trail. At the end of the trail head up a small hill back to the school, take a lap around the track and finish where we start. Though we are able to run the 5K, in consultation with the county health department, we will be putting some procedures in place to keep everyone safe. Per state guidelines, total participants are restricted to 200 runners. All runners must wear a mask at the beginning of the race while lined up for the start. All registrations will be prior to race day, there will be no race day registration. There will be no post-race award ceremony and runners will be encouraged to leave the area when done. T-shirts will be awarded to the first 75 finishers and can be picked up at the finish line. The school will not be open so there will be no restroom facilities available. Unfortunately the party atmosphere will be lacking but it should be nice to finally get out and run or walk with a bunch of folks on the scenic Manchester Gateway Trail. Proceeds for the run will be dedicated to supporting the Bob Goodell Memorial Scholarship and the Red Jacket Cross Country team.
