Join us as we honor the memory of Accompsett Elementary’s beloved teacher, Mike Denaro for the 10th Anniversary Virtual 5K Event. We also celebrate the High School Graduation of his final class. Proceeds to Benefit Mike’s Hike Scholarship Fund & The Smithtown Children’s Foundation.

T-SHIRT PICKUP
Participants have the option at checkout to have their t-shirt shipped for a $5 fee, or to pick it up locally for free. The local pickup time and place will be as follows:
All T-shirt and Goody Bag purchases made on or before May 20th can be picked up on May 26th or June 13th.
All T-shirt and Goody Bag purchases made between May 21st - June 6th can be picked up on June 13th
When: May 26, 2021 from 5:00pm-7:00pm
June 13, 2021 10:00am until noon

HOW TO POST YOUR VIRTUAL RESULTS
1. Click on the results tab on the main registration page.
2. Click "submit virtual results" button.
3. Find yourself by entering your name.
4. Enter your time.
Results take a few minutes to update, so it may be a short time before you see yourself on the leaderboard. Please use a running app to record your distance and time in case we need to verify top winners.
HOW TO UPLOAD PHOTOS
FAMILY SCAVENGER HUNT: Create a photo collage of your scavenger hunt finds and then follow the steps below to upload them!
RUNNERS/WALKERS: Have a socially distant friend take a picture of you running your race, or take a selfie when you finish!
Consider planning your run route near Energy Fitness in St. James and take a photo under our virtual finish line banner!

Click on the results tab
Click your result
Click on the "photos" link (located underneath your bib number)
Click "start uploading photos"
BASICS FOR PLANNING YOUR 5K RUN/WALK
Use one of these tools if you need help planning your route.
- A 5k is 3.1 Miles. Use these tools to help you plan a route through your neighborhood or a local park.
- Use a GPS app on your phone to measure your distance (like the free app Strava https://www.strava.com/
- Use a fitness tracker as a guide: 2000 steps = 1 Mile, so 6200 steps = 5k
- Use your car's odometer to plot a route in your neighborhood
- Find a certified course in your town or local park in USATF's database: https://certifiedroadraces.com/search/
- Walk or run 12.5 laps on a local high school track
OPTIONAL: Consider making Energy Fitness in St. James part of your route and take a picture under our virtual finish line banner.
