Description

The 19th Annual BunnyHop 5K is “back” but not exactly the same.Instead the American Legion Aux., unit 389 will hold a “virtual race” where all participants set their own 3.1 mile course and walk or run that course sometime between April 3 and April 10th, 2021.  That’s right runners and walkers, pull out your favorite old Bunny Hop shirt, run or walk your own 3.1-mile route to take part in this year’s “VIRTUAL BunnyHop 5K”.  Take a selfie as you cross your own finish line and post it on the BunnyHop 5K Facebook page! No timers, no awards and no prize baskets – instead Unit 389 seeks to raise funds for the Volunteer Fire Department, Emergency Medical Squad and important community initiatives.  Our local first responders need resources now more than ever!  Accordingly, “join” us as we “race together BUT ALWAYS 6’ APART.” When you sign up for this year’s race, you will receive an official 18th Annual BunnyHop t-shirt featuring the winning design on the front and our amazing lead sponsors on the back of the shirt. Once we get through the State of Emergency and mandated shut downs, you can pick up your BunnyHop t-shirt at Wainwright’s Jewelry.  Race organizers want to emphasize that all participants should maintain social distancing when they run or walk their 3.1-mile route. This is a year where we run and walk in spirit together but in reality apart. We are in a fight against COVID 19, and our biggest weapon is learning how to maintain social distancing in all we do. That includes participating in this year’s BunnyHop 5K!  Our on line registration is back up and operational. You can sign up for the BunnyHop through March 26th, 2021 at the Run; or, you can mail in your registration. Click on the Facebook link to download a registration form! Join us in spirit as we carry on the tradition of the BunnyHop in new way and support Unit 389’s efforts raising funds for the Volunteer Fire Department, Emergency Medical Squad and the Unit’s community programs.
