Treat yourself to the EFWO Purple Pumpkin-Palooza and CaraBear Chase 5K: a spooktacular family-fun event held on Saturday, October 8.

This event is open to anyone who wishes to show their support for people in our community who live with epilepsy. All ages are welcome; however, anyone 8 and older must register; registration is $20.00 for adults, $10.00 for children ages 6-12, and free for children 5 and under.

Check-in registration for the CaraBear Chase walk/run begins at 4:00pm at the boo-tiful Botkins Community Park on State Route 219, right off of I-75. The race begins at 5:00 PM, starting next to the park at Botkins High School and finishing at the park amongst the many fabulous

Purple Pumpkin-Palooza festivities! Carve out some time for the many family fun activities and join the Purple Pumpkin-Palooza before and after the CaraBear Chase! You can pick a pumpkin to paint purple and take home to display throughout November, National Epilepsy Awareness Month. Pumpkins are available on a first-come, first-serve basis; participants are welcome to bring their own pumpkins to decorate. EFWO will provide the paints, decorations, and treats. Participants can also find information on support programs available throughout 11 counties in Western Ohio, and are encouraged to tell people why they are displaying their purple pumpkin. Pumpkins decorated that day can also be posted on the EFWO

Come as you are, or come in a Costume... But either way, come prepared to have a howling good time with friends and participate in our contests! We will present an award to one person in each age group (as listed below) with the best Halloween costumes. You must be a registered participant and complete the race event in your costume to be eligible for this contest. A pumpkin carving contest will be held after the 5K! Bring your own pumpkin-carving tools and get messy while showing your creepy-crawly creative side! We will also award the top fundraising team, so make sure to get out there and let everyone you know how they can help a great cause!

Registration for the CaraBear Chase includes: Event T-shirt to those registered by September 30th, Walk/Run experience, Race Timing Chip,

Purple Pumpkin-Palooza activities, Children’s Bounce House, and the chance to meet the CaraBear in person!

Proceeds from the EFWO Purple Pumpkin-Palooza and CaraBear Chase 5k benefit the CaraBear Project of Epilepsy Foundation of Western Ohio.
