It is with much sadness that we are announcing that the 2020 Annual Turkey Trot must now be virtual only. We did not come to this decision lightly and truly thought we’d be able to proceed. Despite having a safety plan in place, we have determined that the risk an in-person event would pose to our families, friends, and community is just too great considering the very recent and unprecedented increase in Covid-19 cases both locally and state-wide.  As originally stated, all registrations will automatically be converted to the virtual event. 

Race packets/t-shirts: May be picked up at the school office on weekdays beginning Tuesday, Dec. 1 between 7:30am-3:30pm. If you are not local, we’ll be happy to mail yours to you. Let us know if you need other arrangements to be made. 

Extra t-shirts: If you registered or are registering after the cut-off date, please see the contact info below, and we’ll do our best to accommodate you. This will remain first come, first served. 

Virtual registration will still continue through November 26

St. Benedict School Fifth Annual Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk Details
Start or continue a family tradition and join us Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 26, 2020 for the St. Benedict School Fifth Annual Turkey Trot 5K Run/Walk! There is something for everyone, whether you’re a competitive runner, or looking for some exercise before enjoying your holiday celebration.
New this year is a Virtual 5k- Great for those who aren't able to make it race day.
All proceeds will directly benefit the students of St. Benedict School, providing tuition assistance for families and student scholarships.
 
When/Where
5k In person event - Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, Nov. 26, 2020.
***The start and finish will be at the CAMBRIDGE END (63200 Corduroy Rd.) of the Great Guernsey Trail***
5K Virtual - Run your event ANY TIME, ANY WHERE and submit your results between Nov. 21 and Nov 28th. Results can be submitted by Text or online HERE
 
Race Course
The course is a flat and fast out and back on a paved trail, beginning and ending at the Cambridge end of the Great Guernsey Trail.
 
Starting Time
Thursday, November 26 at 9:00am
 
Awards - for (5k in person event only)
Awards will be given to the top three overall male/female finishers.
Awards will also be given to the top three male/female finishers in the following age groups:
14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and over.
Race awards are handcrafted medals.
Additionally, the top 10 males and top 10 females who cross the finish line will each take home a Theo’s Restaurant homemade pie for your Thanksgiving dinner AND a fresh holiday spruce arrangement from the Pot House Garden Center.
 
Race Packets and Finish Line Perks
5k In person event - Your race packet will include a unisex race t-shirt and finish line snacks and beverages including fresh homemade Scott’s Diner cinnamon rolls. Packet pick-up will begin at 7:30am at the Cambridge end of the Great Guernsey Trail (Corduroy Rd.). Participants who register by November 3 will be guaranteed a shirt. T-shirt availability for participants registered after that date will be on a first come, first served basis on race day. 
 
5K Virtual - We will be offering several dates for a free packet pickup. Free packet pickup at St. Benedict School main office on Nov. 23rd, Nov. 24th and Dec. 3rd during School hours from 8:00am-3:00pm. If none of these dates and times work for you we will ship you you Packet for a added fee of $5.00 or call/email the Race Director (contact info below) to make other arrangements.

Entry Fees
$25 preregistered through Nov. 25/$30 race day registration (non-refundable)
Participants who register by November 3 will be guaranteed a race shirt. 
 
***NOTE***:
If we are unable (per health dept. regulations) to safely hold an in-person race due to COVID-19, we will 
automatically convert all registrations to a non-refundable virtual event as opposed to rescheduling. Updates will be posted on St. Benedict School’s Facebook page, Instagram @stbenschoolturkeytrot, and the race website. 
Registrants will also have the option to participate virtually regardless.
