Description
We think it's time for a 2020 restart! To usher in spring (and keep everyone at a safe distance) the YMCA of Greater Cincinnati is launching it's first Virtual Race! Just as we are all finding our way through the current "new normal" the YMCA Virtual Race is choose your own adventure! We have a Fun Run (for the kids!), a 1 Mile, 5K and 10K options and you can choose whether you run, walk, stroll or roll!
The best part is, the YMCA Virtual Race is FREE! Donations to our COVID-19 Emergency Response fund are encouraged so we may provide critical services to our community during this time.
But wait! There's more! The choose your own adventure fun keeps rolling! Since this is a virtual race, you decide when and where you complete your race. Got a treadmill at home? That'll do! Rather feel the rhythm of the road (sidewalk) under your feet? Great! Take it to the streets! (Seriously, stay on the sidewalk.) Whether you're training for another race or just want to get moving, you can choose the distance and the method.
The best part about the YMCA Virtual Race is we are giving you all the tools to get ready for your race! Join us in getting 600 minutes of activity at www.ytraak.org as you build up to your race. And if you're starting out as a couch potato, we've got you covered! Join the 5K Training Program led by our amazing wellness team on Facebook LIVE three days every week which includes the training schedule, strength training and flexibility. We will help you all the way to the FINISH LINE!
Want bonus points for your dash? Take a photo and tag us using #StayActiveStayHealthy! (There really aren't any bonus points, but it'll make us smile!)
