MedWish Miles

MedWish Miles was created in 2020 to support the countless front-line workers helping during the COVID-19 pandemic. What started as a virtual race came alive (in person) in 2022 and this year marks the second annual in-person experience!

On Saturday, August 19th, we’re inviting you, your family, and your friends into our neighborhood for a 2K walk or 5k run to help us raise awareness and support for the MedWish mission. Whether you’re a seasoned runner/walker or just getting started, you can go the distance for MedWish during this year’s event.

EVENT DAY TIMELINE:  

• 8:15 AM  Registration Check-In Opens at Sterling Recreation Center
• 8:40 AM  Sunrise Stretch for Runners
• 9:00 AM  5K Run Start Time
• 9:10 AM  Morning Yoga for Walkers
• 9:45 AM  2K Walk Start Time
• 10:30 AM Youth Fun Run / Toddler Trot
• 11:00 AM Event Concludes

AWARDS & PRIZES:

There are plenty of chances to win fun prizes at this year's event!
Prizes will be awarded in the following categories:

Top Three 5K Run Participants - This will be awarded to the fastest 5k racers (determined by chip time).

The Most Enthusiastic Family - This will be awarded to the family who is cheering the loudest, best dressed, or supporting MedWish Miles in style. 

The Loudest Sideline Cheerleader - This will be awarded to the individual who is positively supporting our 5k runners as they race to the finish line.

The Most Fun Costume Award - We love a good theme! Come up with a fun and festive costume for yourself or your running/walking buddies. Tutus and accessories are encouraged!

The Cutest 4-Legged Furry Friend Award - Please remember, your pets must be leashed!

FUNDRAISING CHALLENGE

This year, we'll have individual fundraising opportunities. Prizes will be awarded to the TOP INDIVIDUAL FUNDRAISER and TOP FUNDRAISING TEAM (available for pick up post-race or shipped for an additional charge).

PLEASE NOTE: Event fundraising is open through August 20th!
You can still contribute to secure a prize as the top individual or team fundraiser throughout the weekend AND earn cool perks! The top fundraising winners will be announced in the week following the event.
