Description

4 Paws for Ability enriches the lives of children with disabilities by training and placing quality, task-trained service dogs. This provides increased independence for the children, and assistance to their families.

A special fundraising effort has been launched to be able to place a mobility dog with Tiffany. Tiffany is a spunky & sweet 10 year old resident of Huber Heights, OH. Due to numerous complications before & after birth, Tiffany suffers from spastic diplegia cerebral palsy (CP).  This condition is not contagious or degenerative but is something that Tiffany will live with for the rest of her life. One of Tiffany’s greatest desires in life is to be independent, not having to rely on others to accomplish tasks for her that most people her age do without giving it a second thought. Tiffany’s dog will be trained in tasks such as balance work (allowing her to walk alongside the dog without her crutches or walker), retrieval of items she drops or is unable to carry, turning lights on/off, opening house doors & pushing buttons to open doors in public, getting help for her when necessary and wearing a backpack to help carry school and personal supplies.

You will have from March 1st to March 31st to log 26.2 miles. You can complete the distance all at once or work on it a little at a time. When complete, e-mail the race director. Every finisher will receive a medal.

Proceeds from every entry will benefit Tiffany and the training of their assistance dog.
