Hangry Race Series 2020
This is a message we were hoping we weren’t going to have to send. Due to recommendations and directives of Gov. DeWine and Dr. Action of the State Health Department to limit the spread of COVID-19 virus in our community and the State of Ohio, the Metro Parks have decided to take action early and cancel any events at the parks through June 1st. Since the Hangry Race Series was scheduled for May 30, 2020, that means we unfortunately have to cancel our event.
We were also made aware that due to the number of events the park hosts that are being cancelled, the park is not approving any events to be rescheduled in 2020. Though it’s not what we wanted, we understand that this is a decision made in the best interest of the public as a whole and support their decision. We know this is not the way any of us envisioned the start of spring, and we share your disappointment. We will work with our sponsors, vendors and trusted partners to notify attendees and volunteers.
With this decision being made early, not all big expenses have been incurred which allows us to give more to FeedDelaware in their time of need. We have already provided $1,000 to them to help start their drive up food pantry but more will be needed as people continue to be without work. We ask that you allow us to use your registration fee as a donation to FeedDelaware to continue the great work they are doing in this tough time.
WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS?
Any/all proceeds from this event will be going to the Feed Delaware to continue their mission of providing food to those living with the issue of hunger in our community. We are providing two options to all event registrants, which will be available through May 14, 2020. After that time, all registration dollars will be donated as option 1.
- Convert my registration dollars to a donation to the Hangry Race Series. If this is possible for you, this would mean a great deal to our benefiting charity and we appreciate your generosity.
- Please refund my event registration fees less any credit card processing fees. We certainly understand if this is your position. Refunds will be processed in bulk on or about May 15, 2020.

Here Are Your Options:
Description
There are people in central Ohio who live with hunger and we are angry about it. That is why we are “Running Cause We’re Hangry.” Please join us on May 30, 2020, at Highbanks Metro Park for a multi-distance run/walk event. All proceeds from the race will be given to FEEDdelaware for a new program helping undernourished school aged students.
We heard you loved the distance options so decided to bring it back again! If you are up for the extra fun, register for the 10k or 15k! The 5k will be the same loop we have done previously (perhaps we will do it backwards), the 10k will have its own course, and the 15k gets to have the excitement of doing both of them!
Because we respect the trails and the metro parks so much, we do have a limit on the participants we will have on the trail during the event.
