Description

RACE DAY REGISTRATION AND PACKET PICK-UP BEGINS AT 8:00 am!!!  CAN'T WAIT TO SEE EVERYONE!!!

Come help us celebrate the life of Tyler Michael Beckett!  Tyler passed away on January 6, 2017 by taking his own life.  Tyler’s life was ended too soon, but during the time we were blessed with him, he was always helping others. In keeping with his legacy of giving, he donated his organs and selflessly saved 7 lives. All proceeds from this year’s race go to Lifeline of Ohio to help raise awareness for organ, eye and tissue donation.

One of Tyler's passions in life was running, although he would tell you how much he hated it.  He was never a fan of street races or track, he had a deep love for cross country.  The Second Annual Running for Tyler 5k will be held at the Broughton's Nature and Wildlife Education Area in Marietta, Ohio.  Tyler loved this area, as it was the home course for his high school cross country team, the Marietta Tigers.

The run and walk be held on the cross country course and will have the following awards:

  • Plaques for the top 3 male/female runner
  • 1st/2nd/3rd medals for male and female in the following age groups:
  • 10 and under
  • 11-19
  • 20-29
  • 30-39
  • 40-49
  • 50-59
  • 60 and over

This year we have added a FAMILY FUN WALK.  The family walk is for those who would like to participate but not compete on the cross country course.  This will be an untimed walk on the paved path at the site.
