SECOND ANNUAL SANDUSKY DONUT FEST

IT IS TIME!!! our Sandusky 0.5k to benefit Ability Works IS BACK, along with the successful donut-eating contest!

This will be a unique event that promises to be full of fun and fundraising for a great local charity that strives to be the provider of choice for individuals with disabilities.

The David and Jacquie Clark Family Fund is the presenting sponsor for the Sandusky Donut Fest, benefiting Ability Works, Inc., that will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 14th, 2023 at the Cedar Point Sports Center in Sandusky, Ohio. Take a peek below for the details.

Sandusky Donut Fest

Event Schedule

• 11:00 a.m.: Check-in opens. Immediately following check-in, participants can begin their self-guided 0.5k journey and redeem their tickets for delectable donut samples, a beer*, and apple cider along the way.
• 12:30 pm: Donut Contests Begin
  • All 0.5k participants are encouraged to head to the champion courts as these contestants go head-to-head, or donut-to-donut, in an epic battle!
  • Round 1: First Responders Donut Contest
  • Round 2: Amateur Donut Eating Contest
  • Round 3: Professional Donut Eating Contest
• 1:30 pm: The event concludes following the donut contests.
  *Alcoholic beverages are available exclusively for participants aged 21 and older with a valid form of identification.

*Participants must be 21 years of age or older to receive alcoholic beverages and be able to show proof with a valid I.D

The Sandusky 0.5k "Race"

Stroll along the Jackson Street Pier "race" course while redeeming your tickets for delicious donuts and brews.                                                                             

Your registration includes:

• Tickets for donut samples and a beer*

• Swag bag with additional goodies

"Race" Packet & Swag Bag Pick Up
The race packet with your swag bag will be available for pick up at check-in on the day of the event starting at 11 AM. 

Registration Fees:                                                                                                                                                                                                                           

The 0.5k registration fee is $30, and 100% of ALL registration proceeds will go directly to Ability Works for the continued creation of outdoor sensory experiences!                                                                                                                                                                                                             

The Sandusky Donut Eating Contest

Are you ready for sticky fingers and a belly full of donuts? Then "step on up" and register as an amateur or professional contestant for the 2023 Sandusky Donut Eating Contest, brought to you by Dunkin' and their generous donation! Don't wait too long to register because there are only 10 SPOTS for each category!

Contestants will be given 8 minutes to eat as many glazed (YES ALL GLAZED) Dunkin Donuts as they can! Amateur and professional contestants will all be provided water and may eat with their hands. Amateurs will be permitted to dunk donuts in water, but Professionals are NOT permitted to dunk the donuts in water or any other liquid.

Professional: $1,000 Prize

• Professional Grand Prize, 1st place winner will receive an obnoxiously large trophy for their accomplishment as The 2023 Sandusky Donut Eating Champion! Plus, a $1,000 PRIZE!
• Professional 2nd and 3rd will receive less obnoxious trophies for their lesser (but still significant) accomplishments, along with smaller prizes than their victors. $750 for 2nd place and $500 for 3rd place.
• All contestants will receive a custom t-shirt as a reminder of the amazing time they had supporting a great cause and eating lots of donuts!

Amateur: $500 Prize

• Amateur Grand Prize, 1st place winner will receive an obnoxiously large trophy for their accomplishment as The 2023 Sandusky Donut Eating Champion! Plus, a $500 PRIZE! 
  Amateurs in Second and Third place will receive less obnoxious trophies for their lesser (but still significant) accomplishments, along with smaller prizes than their victors. $300 for 2nd place and $150 for 3rd place.
• All contestants will receive a custom t-shirt as a reminder of the amazing time they had supporting a great cause and eating lots of donuts!

Registration Fees:
The Donut Eating Contestant registration fee is $30, and 100% of ALL registration proceeds will go directly to Ability Works for the creation of outdoor sensory experiences!
