Description
Ever wondered how fast you could run a mile on a road course? Come find out at the Red Coyote Runway Mile!
Join us for this great evening event presented by Red Coyote and hosted by The Wheeler District, along with our friends at The Big Friendly, and Taco Nation. There will be giveaways, beer, coffee, tacos, lots of post run hangs and fun!
New This Year - Kids Run!
Here's a great chance to get the whole family involved!
This year we will start the evening with a half mile, (one lap), kids run for athletes under 13. The event will be timed so our future Olympians can get a result and finisher certificate just like the grown ups! Parents are allowed to jog along and dream about scholarship opportunities down the road. ;-)
We will start the kids run at 6:30 pm and then do the Adult timed mile at 6:45 as soon as we have all of our younger athletes back from the course.
About The Course
The Runway Mile timed mile course is held in the heart of the Wheeler District, an exciting development breathing new life into the site of the old Downtown Air Park. The Start / Finish line and athlete staging are on Spoke street. Athletes take an immediate left onto 17th street and run to the corner and a right hand turn on Wheeler Street. The route runs south to Oso Avenue, west to Pioneer Street, then east on 17th Street.
The course for the timed mile consists of two fast flat laps of the circuit before turning back onto Spoke and the finish.
The 1/2 Mile Kids Sprint will be two laps on a shorter loop using Runway Blvd.

Packet Pick Up
Packet Pick up for the Runway Mile will be at the Oklahoma City Store location, (5720 N Classen), from 10-7 on Thursday 10/17.
You can also pick up on race day at the event starting at 4 pm In front of Taco Nation on Spoke Street. WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND picking up early to avoid lines and delays at the event.

Timing, Results, & Photos
Red Coyote uses MyLaps Bib Tag timing and live online results for both the Kids Sprint and the Timed Mile. All participants can also enable finish time text and email notifications for themselves, friends, and family. Runners will also be able to view, download, print, and share a custom finisher certificate with your time from your online results. We are also pleased to partner with Okie Pics to offer event photos loaded to your results from the race. You can download, print, and share all these great assets and we invite you to #RedCoyote, #RunWithThePack and #RunwayMile in your social posts to let everyone know what a great time you had!
