Description
Bringing hope, health, safety, and support to child victims of abuse in YOUR community is as easy as lacing up your
walking/running shoes! Join us for the 6th Annual Amani Center Race Against Child Abuse, on Saturday, June 7,
2014. With a Half Marathon, 10k, 5k and 1 mile family walk, there’s something for everyone.
All proceeds directly benefit the Amani Center. The Center is a non-profit organization created to assist Columbia
County in responding to child abuse through the child forensic interviewing and medical assessment, treatment of
children (birth – 18 years) alleged to have been sexually abused, physically abused, emotionally abused, neglected
and/or witnessed a violent crime including domestic violence. The Amani Center’s mission is to “minimize trauma to
child abuse victims through professional medical diagnosis and treatment in a secure and child-friendly environment
with the goal of preventing child abuse in all forms.
Fighting Child Abuse is an ongoing battle, but you can be part of the solution.
This year we are asking our participants to consider supporting the Amani Center even more through asking your
friends/family to sponsor you (the runner/walker) or your race team (you can get a group of friends to do this with
you)! More details and links to register for Race Against Child Abuse fundraising coming soon!
By participating you can make a difference in the life of an abused child.
