Description
What a difference a year makes!!!! As the Corona virus pandemic sweeps the world we have decided to proceed cautiously with hosting of the Hell Hath No Hurry 10K event this year. This year event is going to be very different from previous years and all of these changes are being implemented to minimize the risk of spreading the corona virus. We want to provide runners a safe opportunity to participate in a trail race and support the Greater Community Food Bank with any proceeds from the race. That being said here is what we have planned out:
You must wear a mask when checking in and waiting at the start line. If you don't believe in wearing masks then don't sign up! We're not trying to prove anything or argue whether or not masks work, we are simply requiring them for anyone who will be participating. If you don't show up with a mask you won't get a bib and you wont' be able to run the race. Please don't make it awkward for volunteers to enforce, just wear the mask when requested.
No free form aid station food or drink. All food and drink will be served from prepackaged containers by volunteers wearing masks and gloves. By nature this is going to limit how much aid is available but this should not be an issue as runners will only be completing the 10k loop once.
Plenty of hand sanitizer and cleaning. We will have plenty of hand sanitizer available at the race and we will have volunteers to disinfect the porta-johns at regular intervals.
We are only hosting the 10k and having multiple start times with no more than 25 runners starting at any given time. All runners and volunteers must wear masks when checking in and standing at the start line. They will also be required when closer than 6 feet to volunteers at aid stations and the finish line.
Please see additional info about the race under the 2020 race tab. As additional details are worked out more information will be posted here to clarify and enhance the race day experience.
We are opening registration at a time period where the state of public events is not known. That being said, I am willing to make every reasonable effort required to make this race happen, but should the permit be revoked the event will be made virtual and all swag and finishers awards will be mailed out to all entrants. Entries will not be refunded or deferred to next year. Please consider this before deciding to register.
Finally, I'd like to thank everyone for their support of the race in the past and sincerely hope we can get back to normal next year. I hoping you find this option a good intermediate and that you would consider joining us in August.
Cheers!
