What is Cam-a-thon?

2025 EVENT: FRIDAY, APRIL 4 - April 5 from 7:00 pm - 7:00 am

The annual "Cam-a-thon Dance Marathon for Children with Cancer" is a multi-hour event hosted by the Downingtown STEM Academy benefitting Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation in memory of Cameron Evans, a Downingtown Area School District student who passed away from leukemia in 2012 at the age of 14. 
 
The idea behind the event was one of "kids inspiring kids", of students learning that community service could be fun, that they can work with adults for a common goal, and that their efforts DO matter and WILL make a difference. What started as a group of 100 students raising $8000 the first year has grown to over 800 students participating annually, with almost $300,000 raised to date.

This years celebration will be held at the newly renovated West High School.  This is a FUNdraising event! And a celebration of those fundraising efforts! During this event, there will be dancing…and so much more! Come share some great music, games, food, and other activities! Come out for a great time while supporting a great cause!
 
**All proceeds go to help fund much needed childhood cancer research via Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation. Fundraising for Cam-a-Thon means fundraising for a future without childhood cancer! Every quarter, nickel, dime and dollar count! (Pennies too!) 
 

Why We Dance

• We dance...in MEMORY of Cameron and in MEMORY and HONOR of many other children and their families who bravely face cancer.
• We dance…to CELEBRATE the LIVES of children and young adults who have been lost to these terrible diseases.                                                                                
• We dance…in hopes of raising AWARENESS for childhood cancers.                                                                                                                                                            
• We dance…to support the mission of the Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation to help FUND RESEARCH into the development of less toxic, more humane therapies for children with a cancer diagnosis.                                                                                                                                                                                         
• We dance…BECAUSE WE CAN.

Where does your donation go?

Event proceeds go to the Cure4Cam Hero Fund in conjunction with Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation to help co-fund childhood cancer research projects all over the country. Check out this list of supported research projects for more details.
