Run for Reading - 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk

The event consist of a 5K run/walk and a 1-mile fun run/walk. The event has a family-friendly environment with a great playground for children. Music is played at the park during the event. It is a well-organized event and staffed with friendly volunteers. Cash prizes and medals are offered to the 5K top three male and female finishers overall as well as various age groupings. Again this year, there is a special 5K medal for the top Veteran finisher! The race will be both in-person and virtual for convenience. Proceeds benefit the Joseph T. Simpson Public Library in Mechanicsburg.
