Description
The 5K trail run crosses mountain streams and offers mild elevation changes of approximately 250 feet on state forest trails and roads. The 10K trail run crosses mountain streams and features elevations exceeding 600 feet over rough terrain, through mountain valleys, and along boulder mountainsides. Both trail runs are family-friendly and guarantee amazing views of hemlock forests.
Race Start: 10k - 8:30am 5k - 8:45am
Aid stations stocked with refreshments and encouragement from cheerful volunteers are sure to refuel participants mentally and physically. Pre-run refreshments are available at packet pick-up beginning at 7:00 a.m. and a light meal will be provided post-run.
Anyone registered by July 6, 2020, will receive a moisture-wicking tank (for women) or sleeveless t-shirt (for men). Awards will be provided to the top three male and female finishers.
Primitive camping is available. If interested in enjoying Tuscarora State Forest overnight, call 717-536-3191 to secure a campsite.
Proceeds from the race support the Juniata County Envirothon Scholarship Fund presented to local Envirothon winners annually. Combining classroom learning and outdoor activities, Envirothon is an environmental education competition for high school students.
