Murrysville, PA US 15668

Welcome to the Murrysville "VIRTUAL" 12 for 12 Challenge. The goal of the challenge is to motivate residents to get out and enjoy our local parks after the holiday season when everyone is feeling more motivated to take on a new challenge and get healthy. Best of all, IT'S FREE! What better way than to explore the great parks and recreation opportunities we have right here in our own backyard?

Beginning January 1st and ending March 31st, your goal is to walk 12 miles within our amazing parks and natural areas. You can do this all at once or you can break it up into as many shorter segments as you like.  If you are an over achiever, you can keep on going and see how much you are able to do over the 3 months of the event.

Each participant will be given a sticker decal for their participation and be entered to win a larger prize at the end of the challenge.

So are you ready to take on the challenge?  Join us today!

Did you know that Murrysville has 5 Community Parks; 5 neighborhood parks; 2 nature reserves and the beautiful Westmoreland heritage Trail all within our municipal border?  With all these great resources available to us, it's time to get out and explore them.

All the addresses for our our parks are listed on our website which you can access below.  Additionally, each park listing has a link to its individual facility page for complete details.

  2. Start walking, running, hiking or other exploration of the parks.
  3. Go to the CHALLENGE PROGRESS TRACKER tab above and enter your activity. That's it. You are also able to enter your elevation. If you don't want to track that just simple enter 0 in the textbox.

The computer will keep track of your totals and let you know how far you have gone.   It will also show how you compare to others doing the challenge as well.  You can see where you rank against your friends or simply set a goal for yourself to achieve.

For those who would like to do more than 12 miles, GO FOR IT!   You can do as much as you like over the three months and get yourself ready for a wonder spring and summer in 2021.

After you upload your activity progress, you can also upload photos from your activity as well.   This is a great way for us to connect with each other and see how we are all experiencing our beautiful parks.

Simply click on the photos tab and you can upload your pictures.   For details on how to upload your photos, click the link below.

During this time, it is important that we all look out for each other when we are enjoying our parks and recreational facilities.   Please help us all stay safe and follow the guidelines set forth below when out during the challenge.
