Description
This year's Run, Walk 'n' Roll 5K is going virtual! That means each participant will run, walk or roll 5K (or 3.1 miles) at a course of his or her choosing between October 31 and November 1. Even though we can't race together as a group this year, we can still have fun! This year's Trick or Trot theme means you are encouraged to dress up in a costume, your race shirt, or even OSB spirit wear. Whatever you want! Just make sure to send pictures to Betty Tsarouchis at btsarouchis@obs.org to show how you ran, walked or rolled your way to the finish line. You can post your pics on social media and tag @OverbrookSchoolfortheBlind on Facebook or @OverbrookSFTB on Instagram! Use the hashtag #OSBTrickOrTrot. Hint: There are prizes involved! Make it a family event and have them all come along!
Photo prize categories include:
-Cutest Photo
-Most School Spirit
-Best Halloween Costume
-Best Family 5K Photo
-Best Couple Photo
-Best Pet Photo
-Most Creative Photo
On Sunday, November 1, attend a virtual closing ceremony with Paralympic athlete and author Lex Gillette! As a totally blind long jumper for Team USA, Lex Gillette has achieved medal winning performances at every major international competition he has attended to date. His philosophy is, "No need for sight when you have a vision" and he spreads his message through motivational speaking and his book entitled Fly.
Even if it's not your typical race day experience, we have lots of fun in store. Sign up today and tell all your friends!
