5K Caper Has Pumpkin Flavor!
The LECOM Virtual Costume Caper 5K is part of the world-famous Pittsburgh Monster Pumpkins Festival. Now in it's third year, the festival is one of the largest giant pumpkin exhibits anywhere, with fruits weighing from 1,000 to over 2,500 pounds! Like so many other events worldwide effected by the Covid-19 pandemic, the festival had to alter its attractions and delivery for health and safety reasons.
No sad faces here because it's still happening—albeit in altered form—and renamed for 2020 as the Pittsburgh Monster Pumpkins PopUp—a drive-by only display of prodigious pumpkins artfully assembled into one of the most herculean pumpkin carving scenes ever attempted using the Dill's Atlantic Giant variety. So, if you find yourself in the great City of Pittsburgh Oct. 30 thru Nov. 5, drive by and become part of the pumpkin-sanity.
