Race For the Rescue

First and foremost, PaWSAR is deeply appreciative for your support of our first annual Race for the Rescue 5K Run, 3K Walk and ½ mile kids Fun Run!  As stated, we are a 100% volunteer organization that are dedicated to the search, location, and recovery of lost loved ones to their families. All proceeds of this fundraiser will go directly to the team for necessary training and equipment to assist others.  Now, onto the details that are very important!  Please review as this should help make the event go as smooth as possible.

Weather: As we know the weather can be unpredictable this time of year.  This is a rain or shine event. Please monitor the weather as the day approaches and plan to dress accordingly.

Parking:  Entrance to Warminster Community Park can be gained from either Bristol Road or Street Road. Parking is preferred within the designated parking lot (not the Runway!).  Please see the park map below that depicts the preferred parking lots (purple) and the course map.  

·       If arriving via 350 E. Bristol Road, turn into the park at the light at Hatboro Road. Proceed to the preferred parking lot described.

·       If arriving via E Street Road, turn onto Johnsonville Boulevard heading towards Veterans Way.  Take a right on Veterans Way, proceed to Warminster Community Park and the preferred parking lot.

Participant Packet Pick-up/Check-In: Packet Pick-up will be at Warminster Community Park at the O’Neill Pavilion on the morning of the race (starting at 7:30 AM).  The O’Neill Pavilion can be found on the park map below as indicated by the yellow star.

Race Day Schedule:

·       Racer Packet Pick-up/Check-in: Starts at 7:30 AM

·       Please arrive no later than 8:15 AM to ensure ample time (Earlier if you want to browse the raffle baskets prior!).

·       Raffle Baskets and 50/50 will be available before/after the 5K/3K events

·       Call for Runners/Walkers to the start line: 8:50 AM

·       5K Run Start: 9:00 AM; 3K Walk: 9:05 AM

·       Awards, Raffle Baskets and 50/50 drawing: 9:45 AM (Will be dependent upon last finisher!)

·       Please plan to visit Tranquility Brewing Company after the race (see below for “why”)!

Course: Please refer to the map below.  The location of the Start/Finish are subject to change and will be based upon guidance from Bryn Mawr Racing Company.  The course will be clearly marked and be staffed with volunteer race marshals (wearing bright orange vests).  Please pay special attention to the course map below and the 5K Run/3K Walk split.  Race marshals will be available at this location to help.  There will be 2 water stations on the 5K course (1 on the 3K course).  Fruit and water for participants at the finish.

Raffle Baskets and 50/50: Please bring Cash! The organizing team, along with the generosity of several local business have been able to assemble some great raffle baskets! We have split the raffle baskets into 2 categories (Premier and Standard).  Below are just some examples of the baskets that will be available for raffle!

Pricing for the basket raffle will be:

·       Premier Baskets tickets will 1 for $5; 3 for $10

·       Standard Baskets tickets will be 1 for $1; 12 for $10; 30 for $20

Participation in the 5K Run/3K Walk is NOT required to take part in the 50/50 or Raffle baskets. We are asking that the winning ticket for the 50/50 and Raffle baskets be present at drawing to claim. We will make one additional second call for the winning ticket prior to drawing again for a new winner.

Post 5K Run/3K Walk: Plenty to do just after the event! In addition to the raffle baskets and 50/50, feel free to hang out and visit with PaWSAR (including some of their certified working dogs) and other first responders from the community.  Tranquility Brewing Company has donated a “beverage coupon” to each finisher that is good for 1 beer, wine, or soft drink that is valid for the day of the race only!  In addition, they are opening at 11:00 AM the day of the race with a brunch menu and graciously offering to donate a portion of their sales on race day directly to PaWSAR.  If possible, please plan to visit Tranquility Brewing the day of the race (I know several members of the Race for the Rescue organizers will be there just after!).  Tranquility Brewing Company, 780 Falcon Cir, Warminster, PA 18974
