Community Volunteers in Medicine invites you to join us for the 3rd Annual Dr. Mary’s Legacy 5K Run & Family Walk at West Goshen Park on Saturday, September 12, 2026. This event brings the community together to raise funds for CVIM, while also honoring the memory of Dr. Mary Wirshup, CVIM’s long-time Medical Director. New this year, we will also have a Kids Fun Run, where kids will get the chance to take part in the action before the 5K & Walk begins.

Prizes will be awarded to the following:

  • Top 3 Overall Runners
  • Top Male/Female Runners Per Age Group (1-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-99)

Additional Awards:

  • Best Costume
  • Largest Team
  • Highest Fundraising Team

Race Routes:

Proceeds from this event will support Community Volunteers in Medicine: providing free, comprehensive health care to low-income, working, uninsured members of our community.  This event honors Dr. Mary’s legacy as a friend to every patient and volunteer, a passionate advocate for healthcare access for all, and an extraordinarily skilled, compassionate physician. For those who wish, creative costumes are encouraged (but not required!).

All event setup costs will be covered for CVIM by an anonymous friend, so 100% of the proceeds will go to CVIM.

CVIM provides free, high-quality healthcare to uninsured working people with low incomes to help them live healthy, productive lives and to assure health equity in the Chester County region.

*If you have chronic medical conditions, please check with your physician before participating*
