Description
The University of Rhode Island Counseling Center is hosting the 18th annual Be 5K, URI's 5K community event for suicide prevention and mental health awareness. All proceeds from the URI Be 5K will go directly to the Heather Fund. This fund was established in memory of Heather Vennewald, a URI student who was lost to suicide.
The Heather Fund provides support for suicide prevention and mental health programs in the URI community. In addition to raising funds, the URI Be 5K is a dynamic and high energy event for URI students, faculty, staff, families and community members to explore on and off-campus resources and discover ways we can all contribute to suicide prevention and reduce the stigma surrounding mental health.
The Be 5K takes place rain or shine. Pets welcome!
Race Info.: Day-of registration starts at 8:30AM and 5K starts at 10:00AM.
