JL Mann's Race for a Reason 2025

J. L. Mann High School Key Club will host our fourth Race for a Reason, a 5K Color Run/Walk at 9:00 am on Saturday, September 20, 2025 at J. L. Mann High School. We are joining forces with the Student Council Group at our school during spirit week for their campaign to raise money for the Dream Center and beat Greenville High, our rival school. The Dream Center is a non-profit dedicated to restoring hope and empowering individuals in need by offering a hand up rather than a handout. The organization provides essential resources, programs, and support to help people transition out of crisis and into self-sufficiency. A key initiative of the Dream Center is the Opportunity Village, a program designed to give temporary housing and support to women and children throughout our community facing homelessness, abuse, or addiction, while equipping them with skills for long-term stability. 

Money raised will directly support The Dream Center’s missions, which are making a huge difference in the lives of children and adults in the Upstate of South Carolina who are in need or in a crisis. Last year alone, their Crisis Intervention Program helped almost 500 individuals, 1,418 free classes were offered to help educate the community members, 22 residents were served in Opportunity Village, and 246 children were provided presents for Christmas. By supporting the Dream Center, we are helping individuals and families in the Upstate work toward a brighter, more stable future. Your generosity will make a lasting impact by offering hope and healing to those striving for a fresh start.
