The mission of the Strides for Mercy 5k is to raise awareness about the complex challenges of poverty, and raise funds to support families as they work to overcome these challenges. We want to empathize with those struggling to climb out of poverty, and promote clear pathways to pursue justice and mercy on their behalf. We hope you’ll mark your calendars for this event, as we work together to end poverty, and create a more just future for our neighbors.
In addition to the 5k race, we will host a 1 Mile Lead with Hope walk to learn firsthand the challenges facing those in poverty, including access to transportation, housing, healthy food and education. This free experience will take place during and after the 5k race and is open to people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. 5k racers will be able to participate in the walk after they finish the 5k.
Stroller Friendly, Family Friendly, and Open to the public!
