Description

Are you ~

  • a seasoned runner who gets needed accountability and/or energy from running with others toward a goal?

  • new to running a particular distance (or in general) and need coaching on training, fueling, gear, and all the things?

  • a runner coming back from a hiatus or injury - or maybe going through a life change - who needs new inspiration, motivation, a purpose?

Coach Diane and team bring RRCA training and years of experience to the table and are here for you.
Prerequisites:
  • Half Marathon/10K Training: Participants should be able to complete a 5K distance run before training start date. 
    This can be a combination of run/walk.

  • 5K Training: There are no prerequisites for this training program.

Target Race Date:  
  • October 26, 2024
    • This is the date of the Run Ocean Isle Beach Race, which includes a Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K.
    • There are other area races in October 2024. We can also guide you to a different option that suits you. 
    • Registration for this race or any race is not mandatory. This is simply the target date we choose to have you "goal ready."
Training Cost:

There is NO COST for the training team plan and coaching. Your registration fee of $10 covers administrative costs, and a  team shirt is optional.
~> Don't want a team shirt? Choose "NO SHIRT" as your size option.

Program Includes:
  • "Get ready to run" orientation meeting on Thursday, July 18, 6pm.
  • Daily training plan including a variety of workouts, cross training, and rest days.
  • Coach-led weekly long runs on Saturday mornings. 
  • Individual meeting with coach to discuss training goals.
  • Coach feedback on many of your individual workouts. 
  • Team Black Dog Shirt
  • 10% store discounts for duration of the team
  • Access to private Facebook training team page
  • Tips on gear, nutrition, and hydration.
  • Warm-up/cool down stretching
  • Form drills
  • Gait analysis
  • Race day preparation

Training Meeting Times:
  • Saturdays at 6:30am  Long Run
