5K RUN AND 1 MILE FUN RUN/WALK 8:00 AM JULY 29, 2023.
2nd Event of the 2023 Healthy Blount Triple Crown of Running. 1st event - Spring Sprint, April 15th. 3rd event - Reindeer Run, December 3rd. Those participating in ALL THREE events will be eligible for Triple Crown cash awards, door prizes and a special memento. If you are unable to participate in ALL THREE events, you still have a chance at winning the great Triple Crown door prizes worth a minimum of $50 each if you participate in the Reindeer Run and at least one of the other two Triple Crown events. You are eligible whether you participate in the 5K Run or the 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk.
The Scholars Run traditional race will be staged Saturday, July 29, 2023 - Cooper Athletic Center on the Maryville College Campus
CHECK-IN: 6:45-7:30 a.m. the day of race
THE COURSE: 5K Course includes area city streets. The 1 Mile Fun Walk/Run is situated entirely on the Maryville College campus.
RACE TIME: 8:00 a.m. – 5K Run

T-SHIRTS: All participants will receive an attractive, high-quality short sleeved unisex shirt! Shirt size guaranteed to those who pre-register. Anyone registering the day of event will receive a shirt while supplies last.
AWARDS/PRIZES: WE WILL STAGE AN AWARDS CEREMONY ON SITE AFTER THE EVENT. Any award not claimed will be available at the Parks and Rec Office located at 316 South Everett High Road Maryville, TN 37804 between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. Awards will be given to the top three finishers in each age group and to the top male/female overall and Masters winners in the 5K. All Fun Run/Walk participants will receive a participation gift. AGE DIVISIONS: Male and Female: 8 and under, 9-11, 12-15, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and over. Male and Female Masters: Male and Female (40 and older)
GENERAL INFORMATION: No bicycles, roller blades or dogs are allowed on the course or to be used by any participant during the race. The use of headsets is not recommended due to traffic on race route.
Refreshments: post race refreshments will be available immediately following the race for all registered participants.

Course starts on Loop Road on the Maryville College Campus in front of the Cooper Athletic Center
Course runs clockwise on the Loop Road to left turn onto Morningside Lane
Course continues through College Woods
Loop the driveway at the House in the Woods, staying right and looping left
Course then follows Morningside Lane north to a right turn onto a service road that runs between Woods Road and Loop Road
At the intersection of the service road and Howee Avenue, course makes a left turn onto Howee Avenue
Course follows Howee Avenue to a left turn onto Loop Road
Course follows Loop Road clockwise to a left turn onto the Entrance Drive from Court Street to the campus
At the intersection of Entrance Drive and Court Street, course makes a left turn onto Court Street
Course follows Court Street to a right turn onto Indiana Ave
Course follows Indiana Ave to a right turn onto Cates Street
Course follows Cates Street to a right turn onto Miller Avenue
Course follows Miller Avenue to a right turn onto Court Street
Course follows Court Street to a left turn onto Entrance Drive into the campus
Course follows Entrance Drive to a left turn onto Loop Road
Course follows Loop Road clockwise around the campus to a left turn onto Howee Avenue
Course follows Howee Avenue to a right turn onto service road
Course follows the service road to a right turn at the intersection of the service road and Morningside Lane
Course follows Morningside Lane to a right turn onto Loop Road.
Course follows Loop Road to the common start/finish line in front of the Cooper Athletic Center

Continue through College Woods
Loop the driveway at the House in the Woods, staying right and looping left.
Return north on Morningside Lane to the start/finish line.
