2ND ANNUAL SPINE-TACULAR 5K

The Texas Chiropractic Association District 11's 2nd Annual Spine-Tacular 5K! It's that time of year again - October is Texas Chiropractic Health Month and officially the spookiest time of the year to remember that drugs aren't candy!

Texas Chiropractic Health Month is a statewide observance held in conjunction with the American Chiropractic Association’s National Chiropractic Health Month. This event helps to raise public awareness of the importance of musculoskeletal health and the benefits of chiropractic care and its drug-free approach to whole-person, patient-centered, health and wellness. It also promotes the quality healthcare provided by the nearly 7,000 Texas chiropractors across the Lone Star State. Our goal is to raise public awareness and improve access to non-opioid alternatives for pain management in the fight against prescription opioid overuse and abuse, which continues to take its toll. Guidelines published by the American Medical Association, the American College of Physicians, the CDC, and many other healthcare groups, recommend people try non-pharmacologic treatments as a first line of defense against pain, where appropriate. Prescription opioid pain medications and surgery should be considered a last resort for pain management in respect to chronic ailments such as low back pain, neck pain and other common musculoskeletal conditions. Chiropractic care is considered one of the safest, most effective alternatives.

Donations will be used to advance TCA-District 11's goal of bringing Chiropractic Awareness to our community, by allowing us to host more events and advocate more effectively that Chiropractic Care is a drug-free approach to pain management of musculoskeletal conditions. A portion of these donations will be provided to the Texas Chiropractic College's student organizations, including the Student Texas Chiropractic Association, Student American Chiropractic Association and the Student American Black Chiropractic Association.
