Kappa Alpha Theta's Rock The CASA 5K (Draft)

Welcome to Kappa Alpha Theta Delta Omega's 36th annual Rock the CASA 5K! We are beyond excited to being hosting another amazing event. This event will be benefitting one of our philanthropies, CASA, as well as the Theta Foundation. Below you will find a little more about CASA and the Theta Foundation. We will be hosting two different 5k race events and two 1 mile walk events. This pandemic has been life-changing, but Kappa Alpha Theta will press on to make sure our philanthropies are being continuously supported all while staying safe!

CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates and is Kappa Alpha Theta’s national philanthropy. CASA’s mission is to support and promote court-appointed volunteer advocacy to every abused or neglected child so that every child in the United States can be safe and have a permanent home and the opportunity to thrive. CASA volunteers are trained community members who "stand up" for children - giving them a voice in the court system. Each volunteer commits to a child or sibling set, addressing his/her needs and seeking placement in a safe, loving home as quickly as possible. Voices for Children is the Brazos Valley chapter of the CASA organization.

Theta Foundation has a mission to secure and manage resources for the educational, leadership, and philanthropic programs of the Fraternity. Also, for the scholastic, professional, and service pursuits of its members to help them reach their fullest potential and make a difference in the world. The ways that Theta Foundation helps others is through managing the scholarship and chapter and individual grant programs, by conducting fundraising campaigns, with publishing an annual report to share our successes and needs, and furthering the public awareness of Theta Foundation. Partnering with this foundation allows us to give back to Thetas in need.
