Description
This race was created in honor of Firefighter/Paramedic Joseph Mitchell and all those in the medical field who have lost their lives on the frontlines. Proceeds from the race will go toward the Joseph Mitchell First Responder Scholarship, which provides vocational scholarships for those seeking a career in fire, EMS, or law enforcement.
Joseph Mitchell was a jack-of-all-trades and a man who let nothing stand in his way. He was a builder, plumber, hobby extremist, motorcycle fanatic, lighting wizard, and painter extraordinaire. It was evident that his passion was contagious, his humor infectious, and his talents vast. His exterior was rough, but he was an advocate for what was right, unapologetically. His fitness passion included running to help raise awareness and funds for multiple charities. He lost his life December 11, 2020.
Never forgotten.
