Description
The Bridgeland Community Fun Run/Walk for Heroes will be held on October 11, 2025, at 8:00 a.m. at Festival Park in Bridgeland, Cypress, TX. The event will include an 8:00 a.m. 10K run, 5K run/walk, 5K flag team run/walk, around Josey Lake & Lakeland Village Park, and, at 9:00 a.m., a children's 1K run along Bridgeland Lake. The event features booths to visit our sponsors, entertainment, and activities for the children.
Only the children's walk is open to strollers and wagons; the 5K and 10K are not open to strollers or wagons. This event is open to everyone, you don't need to be a resident to participate.
Awards will be given to the top 3 biological males and top 3 biological females for the 5K and 10K, and 1st place Flag Team. 1K awards will be given to the 1st place biological boy and biological girl of 1K as well as a prize packet to all kid participants.
Challenge coins will be awarded to all 5K & 10K finishers.
By participating in the fun, you grant us permission to take and use photographs of you or your children that are participating. The Fun Run/Walk for Heroes is a rain or shine event. If the Fun/Run Walk is canceled for any reason, NO ticket prices & processing fees will be refunded and all funds will be considered a donation to The Bridgeland Community Supports Veterans, Inc
Any law enforcement officer has the authority to shut down the event in the interest of public safety!
About Our Organization
The Bridgeland Community Supports Veterans, Inc. is proud to host our annual Fun Run/Walk for Heroes on October 11, 2025. This meaningful event helps us honor and support the veterans and their families who live right here in Bridgeland.
Our vision is to develop a spirit of patriotism and provide tangible support to Bridgeland veterans through initiatives like:
- Building and maintaining Bridgeland Veterans Memorial Park
- Hosting social gatherings like coffee and beer/pizza events for veterans
- Organizing annual events such as the Memorial Day Service, Veterans Day Festival, and 9/11 Remembrance
- Fourth of July thank you cards for veterans
- Offering financial assistance to veterans in need
- Hosting an annual Thanksgiving turkey giveaway for veterans
- Annual picnic at Camp Hope
- Maintaining flags in Prairieland Village and managing our veteran-focused website and Facebook page
By participating in this race, you're directly contributing to programs that celebrate, support, and uplift Bridgeland’s Veteran Community.
Honor Your Hero
Honor your Hero by entering the name, rank, & branch of service of the veteran or active service member you would like to honor, during registration!
We will create signs based on submitting and place them along the course to honor their service.
Flag Team Challenge – Carry the Stars and Stripes with Pride
Looking for a unique way to honor our heroes during the Fun Run/Walk for Heroes? Form a 4-Person Flag Team and carry the American flag proudly throughout the 5K course.
What It Represents:
Running as a Flag Team is more than a challenge - it’s a tribute.
Unity & Cohesion: Staying together reflects the “leave no one behind” spirit of our military.
Patriotism: Carrying the American flag symbolizes pride, freedom, and respect for those who served.
Honor & Sacrifice: Each step is a salute to veterans, fallen heroes, and those currently serving.
Flag Team Rules:
- Teams consist of four members.
- Each team receives an American flag with a pole as part of their race packet.
- The team must start and finish together, staying united for the entire course—no one gets left behind.
- Every team member takes a turn carrying the flag; rotation timing is up to the team.
- The flag must remain raised and unfurled throughout the race.
- Please treat the flag with respect at all times.

Saturday, October 11, 2025 beginning at 7am
What to Wear
Light clothing (weather appropriate) is suggested, along with a great pair of athletic shoes! Flip flops and sandals will not be allowed on the paths for safety reasons.
You must wear your bib number visible on your chest or stomach in order to run or walk. Do not place bibs upside down or on your back.
Parking
You can park along Bridgeland Landing Dr, or in the back of the Activity Center parking lot on Bridgeland Landing Dr. The Race is located at 16902 Bridgeland Landing Dr, next to Lakeland Village Festival Park. No parking on neighborhood streets.
