Race Cancelled for 2026
To our Ray Porter Memorial racers and supporters,
After a lot of discussion, our team has made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Ray Porter Memorial.
This was not an easy call.
Following a change in venue, it became clear that the new location simply wasn’t generating the same enthusiasm we’ve experienced in previous years. Despite opening registration in February, we currently have only 17 riders registered for an event that typically brings together more than 150.
But this race has never been about simply putting on another bike race.
The Ray Porter Memorial exists to honor Ray’s memory and, through our partnership with the Big Pig Cancer Foundation, to support an incredibly important cause. We owe it to Ray, the Foundation, our sponsors, volunteers, and every rider who supports this event to put on something worthy of that mission.
Moving forward with a significantly diminished event just to say we held it didn’t feel right.
So rather than compromise what the Ray Porter Memorial has become, we’ve made the decision to cancel this year, regroup, and focus on bringing it back the way it deserves to be done.
To those 17 riders who committed early: thank you. Your willingness to show up and support this race and its mission means a great deal to all of us.
Everyone who pre-registered will receive a full refund.
This is a pause in the race, not in our commitment to Ray’s memory or to the Big Pig Cancer Foundation. We appreciate your understanding and your continued support.

The Big Pig Cancer Foundation is proud to present the 2026 Ray Porter Memorial 6 Hour Endurance Race and Fundraiser. This event features the Ray Porter Memorial 6 Hour Endurance mountain bike race.
The Big Pig Cancer Foundation cooking trailer will be serving the traditional favorites cooked up on the Flying Pig BBQ machine. Come on out, make a donation to help the community and enjoy pulled pork tacos and more bacon than you can dream of.
The Big Pig Cancer Foundation raises funds each year to help support members of our local community that are fighting against cancer. Now in it's 16th year the BPCF has raised over $125,000 for this cause. All proceeds from the Ray Porter Memorial 6 Hour Endurance Race and Fundraiser serve this purpose. Register today for the event of your choice and help us in our annual fundraising efforts.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS
Saturday October 10th, 2026
- 2:00 PM - Registration Opens
- 3:00 PM - Registration Closes
- 3:15 PM - Transition and equipment drop-off closed to vehicles
- 3:45 PM - Racers Meeting
- 3:55 PM - Start Line Closed to through traffic
- 4:00 PM - All Races Start
- 10:00 PM - All 6 Hour Competitions End
- 10:15 PM - Podium Awards
EVENT DETAILS
The race course will be announced shortly. All activities to take part at Denton MTB Trail, Jeff LaQuey Memorial Trail.
The race clock will start at 4pm and will stop at 10 PM. Final lap must be completed by 10 PM for it to count. Any delays at start time will be added to the end time to ensure 6 hours of racing takes place.
Expo and Pits are located at the upper parking lot. Equipment drop-off by vehicle is only permitted before 3:15pm. All vehicles must be out of the transition area at this time.
There should be plenty of parking. Please follow directions from our parking team for equipment drop off and park in spaces they indicate. It is critical that we leave enough room for emergency medical or fire dept access through our parking area. .
