THE STORY BEHIND BLAKE'S RUN

On December 23, 2001, 10-year-old Blake Schoenrock wrapped a small note like a Christmas present and placed it under the family tree. Every year after, the mysterious package appeared again—but no one was allowed to open it. Only Blake knew what was inside.

Blake grew into a remarkable young man: a dedicated student at Texas A&M, an accomplished athlete, and a joyful presence to everyone who knew him. Just 10 days after completing a triathlon, Blake unexpectedly suffered a major heart attack. He was 20 years old. After a courageous six-day fight, he entered the presence of God.

Following his passing, Blake’s parents finally opened the gift he had placed under the tree for 10 straight years. Inside, they found a simple, powerful message:

“Tell the world about Jesus.”

That note revealed the heartbeat of Blake’s life. More than his achievements or abilities, it was his deep love for Christ that defined him.

Blake’s Run was created to honor his legacy and fulfill his wish—to tell the world about Jesus. We invite you to join us in remembering Blake and proclaiming the message he held most dear.

Registration and Early Packet Pickup:
Friday, Oct. 10, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. at the c|Life Forney campus.

Pre-run Celebration and Instruction:
8:15 a.m. at the Forney Community Park

Run Starts:
8:30 a.m.

Finish Festival:
10:00 a.m.

We will have free Chick-Fil-A for all paid participants.
