Open to students in grades
7th – 12th grades
June 10 -July 26, 2024 (7 Weeks - 35 Days) Participants can miss as needed since families travel on vacation during the summer
Program Staff
This program is under the direction of Patrick Zarate who has over 24 years of collegiate and high school coaching experience. Coach Zarate has coached at the collegiate level for 13 years, six of which he was the Head Coach (Texas Lutheran University).
Coach Zarate is entering his 13th year coaching at Pearland Dawson High School.
Coach Zarate was named the NCAA National Coach of the Year and NCAA Regional Coach of the Year in 2008 as well as the American Southwest Conference Coach of the Year in 2010, 2011, and 2012. Coach Zarate is USATF Level 1 and 2 certified and is USATF Cross Country Specialist certified.
While at Dawson, Coach Zarate has coached five athletes to the UIL State XC Championships that have raced in the State meet 12 times and 10 athletes to the UIL State Track & Field Championships. Coach Zarate has assisted with 16 district team championships and over 50 individual district champions, over 30 area champions, and over 10 regional and state qualifiers.
Coach Zarate was inducted into the Texas Lutheran University Hall of Fame in 2019 for his accomplishments while coaching there.
While the head coach at Texas Lutheran University, Coach Zarate’s teams have accomplished:
-3 NCAA National Championships
-6 ASC Team Championships
-53 NCAA All-American honors
-64 ASC Individual Champions
Program Breakdown
□ Monday – Friday at 7:15am – 8:45am
Weekend runs will be recommended to you. You will do these on your own.

Each Session will last approximately 90 minutes.
