Running for Rhinos Virtual 5K

Let's run to save rhinos!  Welcome to the first ever virtual Running for Rhinos event in Houston, Hosted by the Greater Houston Chapter of the American Association of Zoo Keepers (GHCAAZK).  For those of you new to a GHCAAZK event, we are an organization that focuses on animal care, conservation, and professional development.  Every year, chapters across the country raise money for rhino conservation in Africa and Asia.  Our normal event is a Bowling for Rhinos night, but due to current circumstances, we are trying something new.  By making Running for Rhinos a virtual event, you can walk, run, or move however you like anytime between October 9 and 12 and you can do it anywhere in the world!  

Participation is $35 per person and includes a free Running for Rhinos t-shirt!  So gather together some socially distant friends and register as a team or you can register on your own.  There is a website fee per transaction so we recommend trying to find some friends to join you on your run to help split that fee. If you would like your shirt for the event, please sign up by September 16.  If ordered after, the shirt might not come in time for the event.

Check out our online store for some great sustainability items and our raffle.  Raffle items include artwork done by Houston Zoo, Moody Gardens, and Downtown Aquarium animals!

Help us fundraise further by setting your own fundraising goal and reaching out to friends and family to help!

Proceeds from registration, participant fundraising, our online store, and raffle all go towards saving habitat necessary for rhinos and all the species that share their home.
