Description
RACE INFO: The Kilgore to Longview run is a point to point race from downtown Kilgore TX to the Rodeo Arena at the Maude Cobb Convention Center and Gregg County Fairgrounds complex in Longview TX. The 11 mile race route follows US highway 31. The first Kilgore to Longview race was held in 1976 in celebration of the Nation’s Bicentennial. It ran annually from that time through 2001, after which major road construction on Highway 31 caused cancellation of the event. The race was brought back in 2017, and the Longview Running Club plans to keep it as an annual event.
RUNNER TRANSPORTATION (IMPORTANT PLEASE READ) The Longview Running Club will provide bus transportation from the finish area at the Rodeo Arena in Longview to the start line in downtown Kilgore. Runners will board buses at the Rodeo Arena parking lot and be bused to the start line in Kilgore. Buses will begin running at 6:00 AM and the LAST BUS LEAVES AT 7:20. Runners are not required to ride the buses to the start, runners may elect to take their own vehicles to Kilgore, but there will be NO RETURN TRANSPORTATION to Kilgore provided following the race and runners taking private vehicles to Kilgore will be responsible for getting themselves to the start at 8:00 AM sharp.

Awards: $300, $200, $100 to the 1st, 2nd & 3rd Overall male & female
Age group awards, two deep, male and female,15-under, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and up.
Top finishing Longview area male and female will receive a goodie bag containing gift cards from local sponsors. Awards not duplicated in the case of first or second overall being a Longview area resident.
Packet Pickup: Race packets may be picked up on
Friday, February 7th from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Scotty's 2.0, 1155 East Hawkins Parkway, Longview TX.
Race morning at the Longview Rodeo Arena starting at 5:50 a.m.
Packets may also be picked up on race morning until 7:10 AM.
Packet pickup will end at 7:10 on race morning.
Timing Chips: Your timing chip is attached to your race bib. You need your chip and bib in order to board the bus. No chip or bib = no ride.
Beneficiary: Proceeds earned by this race will benefit Longview Paws (Pets Are Worth Saving), a non-profit 501(c) 3 dedicated to supporting the Longview Animal Care and Adoption Center in Logview, TX
