Chisholm Trail Virtual Challenge

Sat June 6 - Sat August 29

Events

Virtual Run from San Antonio to the Waco Suspension Bridge

Place

Anywhere you like! The Chisholm Trail Challenge can be completed in your own neighborhood, at a local park, or even the treadmill.

Description

Run, Walk, or Crawl virtually from San Antonio headed to the Red River Station along the Chisholm Cattle Trail in Texas. The original cattle trail roughly paralleled present-day I35 from San Antonio to Fort Worth and then US 81 on to the Red River Station (now a ghost town) before the trail crossed the border into Oklahoma. The target for this challenge is to make it to the Waco Suspension Bridge and cross the Brazos River by August 29. If you follow the Summer Half Marathon Training Guide you should reach the Waco Suspension Bridge Milestone at the end of the program on August 29th.

We hope this is a fun way to keep track of our summer training for what hopefully is an in-person fall season! There is no swag (no t-shirt or finisher medal), but you will build your mileage base and be ready for a half marathon when social distancing permits.

What you will get for registering for the Chisholm Trail Virtual Challenge.

  • A personalized virtual bib with your name and bib number.
  • A weekly email with a suggested route for the Saturday Long Run. (Remember to observe social distancing)
  • Easy activity logging
  • Personal Progresss Meter
  • Live map tracking showing your progress along the Chisholm Trail route in Texas.
  • A results Leaderboard where you can compare your progress compared to other participants
  • Virtual Challenge Certificate at the completion of the challenge.
