Description
Keep Calm and Run On - Hill Events is our way to give back to our racers. During this time of frustration and social distancing we as runners know the challenges you face. Many like ourselves are extroverts and thrive when we interact with each other. For this reason we have created a Free - Enhanced Virtual Race called - Keep Calm Run On - Hill Events. Each Saturday we will offer a free race starting at different times depending on the season. Run your own location. Keep your groups small to limit social distancing and make sure you keep your hands clean. If you simply want to run it is 100% free to run and post. If you want to have your times measured against one another we will charge a small $5 fee that will include a bib number so you can report. If you want medals we will be selling medals from past races that will be shipped weekly. If you want a shirt we will be selling shirts from past races or make new ones for you as well.
The thing about this series of races that will make it awesome is you will be able to post on Marco Polo. As your race director I will start the race on Marco Polo and with your smart phones we ask you post footage of your race up to a certain point. Example if we do a 5K please post your run video highlight up to the first 15 Mins after the start. We ask you post only a few seconds at a time. After 15 mins we will ask you to post the last 15 seconds as you finish and maybe another 15 secs post race spiritual high five to other racers and maybe a shout out.
In my opinion the best thing we can do to combat this virus is to be positive. Another thing is to be healthy. We all know that strong lungs and heart will help us stay healthier than anything else we can do. Spread the word.
The reason we have the free option is because we want everyone participating. We are all struggling to survive financially during these times and want everyone to feel our strength together regardless of their situation. Keep Calm and Run On!!!
