The Up For Air Series is a collection of endurance events created to amplify informed dialogue and empower organizations actively working on air quality solutions. Proceeds from Up For Air events are directed at carefully selected non-profit groups who demonstrate high value influence strategies. The race platform is used to expose participants and the general public to science-based material about the importance of healthy air. All events are conducted with a minimal footprint philosophy.
For a third year, The Front Climbing Club is partnering with local endurance athlete Jared Campell for Climbing Up For Air (CUFA) and Running Up For Air (RUFA), two endurance challenges held in SLC, Ogden and beyond, to activate hundreds of athletes for 48 consecutive hours of raising funds for an awareness about a cause that affects us all. Participants of CUFA have the option of competing in an 8 or 4 hour session, in which they see how many routes they are able to climb for cleaner air in the Wasatch Front.
Each participant will receive one meal, drink, and raffle ticket as a part of their registration, as well as a day pass. 8 Hour Challenge participants will receive 2 raffle tickets. Donations as well as all net proceeds from the registration fee will be donated to one of our carefully selected non-profit groups, Breathe Utah and Utah Clean Energy. All registrants have the opportunity to become a fundraiser either as a part of their registration process or on the donation page, allowing everyone to take part in fighting for clean air. As an added bonus, the top fundraiser at each gym will receive a prize!
All participants and spectators must have a waiver on file prior to entering the gym. Waivers may also be completed at the gym the day of the event, however, waiver stations are limited and take up to 8 minutes to complete.
Please note: The auto-belays will be taken down for this event and replaced with top ropes. You also may not climb the same problem, route or anchor more than 3 times in a row. To preview the scorecard and read up on other rules and info, visit The Front's CUFA Event Page!
