"Live Your Dash" The Dee Smith Memorial 5K Fun walk/run

Dee Smith, a lifetime Ogden resident and a Weber County leader, was a proponent of keeping our community safe. As a former county prosecutor, leader, mentor, and teacher, Dee was a diligent civil leader to local law enforcement officers.

Dee passed away unexpectedly in June 2021 and left behind a legacy of hard work along with his amazing family and countless friends. Dee was passionate about being active and loved biking, running, hiking, and any outdoor activity under the "Blue Dome." He lived life to the fullest, by living "his dash," and is greatly missed.

The purpose of the race is to honor Dee's memory and a make a thoughtful donation to support local programs important to Dee.  Last year, donations and race proceeds topped $22,000 and went to Weber State University for Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice scholarship programs. In addition, a new “Live Your Dash” Summer Reading Program is being developed to help struggling children with reading assistance. We couldn't have done it without you and this year we are hoping for it to be BIGGER and BETTER with your continued support!

Your race fee(s), donations, are tax deductible.  We will email you a donation receipt.  Please keep your receipt as it is your official record to claim your donation as a tax deduction.

  • Youth (5 to 17 year old) $10.00.  Registration includes a commemorative shirt.
