Day of the Dead Celebration Run

Utah’s favorite party run! Celebrate Dia De Los Muertos with us this November. Dia de Los Muertos attire strongly encouraged. Dress in your finest Calaca apparel. With the option to run in the half marathon, 5K, or Kids Run. We hope to highlight many aspects of this special celebration as we get closer and closer to race day so that we all can truly understand Dia De Los Muertos a little more.

Day of the Dead (Dia De Los Muertos) is a two day holiday typically held on November 1 to November 2 that reunites the living and dead. We hope we have brought the colorful styles and designs to the beautiful finisher medal. You can choose between the dancing Day of the Dead skeleton couple or the laughing Sugar Skull medal. Day of the Dead (Dia De Los Muertos) is a two day holiday that reunites the living and dead. Families create ofrendas (Offerings) to honor their departed family members that have passed. These altars are decorated with bright yellow marigold flowers, photos of the departed, and the favorite foods and drinks of the one being honored. The offerings are believed to encourage visits from the land of the dead as the departed souls hear their prayers, smell their foods, and join in on the celebrations! Day of the Dead is a rare holiday for celebrating death and life. It is unlike any holiday where mourning is exchanged for celebration. Because this is a virtual event we encourage you to run with us (virtually of course) from November 1 to November 2 but this event is also open till the end of the year.

Participants will receive:

  • High-Quality Race Shirt (optional)
